So I recently made the leap into the world of Etsy.com. I have crocheted and done crafty things but rarely sold anything. I saw that a few of my Facebook friends were posting about Etsy.com and so I checked it out. I instantly fell in love, but as a buyer not a seller. I bought a few crochet patterns and started crocheting, yarn and needles were flying, and so it began!
I did a little research and talked to a few friends and jumped with both feet in and listed some items in my shop Mel Is Crafty. But two weeks in and while I have some views and one admirer there are no sales. I know these things take time, but I'm wondering if I'll make money at things I love, writing, crocheting and fighting. Yes fighting! I don't think so, well at least as far as fighting goes, but who knows with the other two.
I hope that my business eventually grows, but if it doesn't thats ok too, why because I love doing it! The lesson here is don't stop doing what you love because you're not getting rich. I'd settle for 20 bucks and often do for my writing but I keep doing it. So the thought for the day do it because you love it, not because you get paid for it. So with that it's time for me to make the yarn fly again I have galoshes to finish......
